I assume that place was also an Airbnb since who would use such an obvious code for their lockbox?

When I thought about it afterwards I don't think it was a rental, at least not at the time. Two bedrooms and the one bathroom were mid-reno with the doors open and stuff everywhere in them, the vacuum was out, some swim shorts were hanging in the one shower, and the kitchen cabinets were packed with food.
It made me wonder 2 things, first just how many places use super basic codes like that? Especially at a ski resort, it would be pretty easy to just try a few codes at places that look empty, odds are you could get into one of them. If it's a rental it'd be even easier to find out what weekends aren't booked and just show up. Second, if the owners of that place have a teenage kid they probably got in shit if the parents thought they let their friends use it without permission or something lol.
