Not really.
You can see the thread as joke, or we can see if it develops into an intelligent conversation on the state of media today.
Or you could post 10 memes and pat yourself on the back thinking you've actually added something of substance.

In my defense, it's been a long time since I've banned anyone.
And he had it coming. That jackoff averaged 70 posts a year here, and 60 of them were

I did my research before I pulled the trigger.

It's their disgusting actions that bring in the viewers. My kids laughed about Lil Tay. They followed her, and truly believed that she was in on the joke as a global troll.
Then we watched part of the GMA interview, and they realized that these people actually believe their shtick. That's when this went from entertaining, to sad.
She isn't much different than so many other youtube stars though. Mainstream media became good at entertaining everyone. Scripted TV shows and movies were successful in bringing people together. Reality TV, and now the internet have thrown all those rules out the window. Now it's a matter of catering to the lowest common denominator.
At least pewdiepie gave people tips and tricks.

As this goes on, I feel worse and worse for this kid. She has no idea what she is doing, and the affect that it will have on her in the future.
But Rebecca Black was just such a crazy story. Poor girl gets a nice b'day present from her dad, which was studio time for her music. The song was catchy so they decided to throw $5k into a music video. It wasn't even promoted! But the world caught on, and basically ruined her teenage years.
That was all kinds of fucked up.
