We are all Canadians and, as such, we should share a lot of the most basic values. Unless there is something to suggest otherwise, I am going to assume all of you believe none of you want to see more kids killed by guns, or that women should have the same rights and opportunities as men, everyone should have the religious freedom and freedom from religion, and so on. We just differ on how we believe those values should be put into practice. I try not to feel fundamentally opposed to someone just because they don't share the exact same opinion, or are unwilling to take a side. I try not view my opinions as superior to all others. We all see the world differently. Look at the recent Yanni/Laurel debate or the blue/white dress debate - we can't even interpret the same audio/visual in the same way. So imagine how difficult philosophical/political concepts become for our species.
