Near new checker mats go for $750 USD. A few have sold at that price recently. BNIB with all original paperwork would touch $1k. Besides the rarity I never understood the attraction. They are heavy as shit and the bottom side takes a beating and flakes. The 2001 blacks are much lighter. I have both sets along with a couple sets of the Euro ones and I'm tempted to sell for that lotto win but I kinda like hoarding stuff more
