The short answer to that is to teach you how to think outside the box, and to be open to different ideas.
With globalization and a much more demanding consumer base, the complexity of today's challenges are far more difficult, compared to, let's say, 10 years ago. I used to think these courses were completely useless, but one day, it all made sense. You'll learn that throughout your career and continuing education.
But part of that comes with being a hipster.
If you stick around long enough, you may end up being my student @ BCIT and calling me professor.
