try checking the wires inside the loom, where it flexes where the trunk hinge area is. Anywhere the wire loom normally bends is a possible chance of broken wire.
I'm not familiar with any service menus or self-diag procedures, but i found this

if the wiring checks out ok, i agree the likely failed part may be the camera itself. Low chance of being the screen/audio unit assembly.
