Unless you buy the GT with the Premium package + Technology package, it's pretty much impossible to find a Japanese built Mazda3 GT, at least that was the case when I bought in April.
I specifically wanted to avoid the Technology package because I didn't want to deal with the potential issues with the i-eloop system, given the minimal benefits it provided.
