This reminds me of my recent birthday where I hid it from Facebook. Usually people message anyone with a birthday. For me, I only talk with maybe 3% of the people on my friends list. It's a nice gesture to wish someone a happy birthday but it's coming from people I never spoke with otherwise. This year, the only people who messaged me / texted me were the ones who actually knew my birthday rather than know my birthday based on a FB notification.
Felt so much better. Didn't have to feel compelled to thank people I don't interact with otherwise. May as well go to the kid celebrating their birthday at a Red Robin table and do the same.

I wish there weren't so many virtue signalling 'expert political' retards on my friends list. You know, the type of person who blah blahs about the evils of governments while doing fuck all themselves to be better community participants.
