Depends where you plan to go.
I think the blizzak's are kind of excessive if you're staying in the city. It's good tires for snow, like if you plan to go on some road trips, but there are better options for frost/ice and light snow, and will last longer than the blizzaks.
I got the WinterContact Si last winter for my daily commuting, but it's probably not as suitable for thick snow compared to the blizzak. But I'm staying within the city.
