I am providing a general response to your inquiry by referring you to the Motor Vehicle Act – the provincial legislations for the matter that I believe is of concern to you.
Specifically, please review Division 25 — Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance which can be found in the link below.
Motor Vehicle Act Regulations
From what I understand, if you’re driving a car without the proper inspection, local police have the right to immediately take your car off the road, or force you to get it inspected.
For case specific inquiries such as specific unfairness in your case, you may wish to contact your local MLA or ICBC office for further assistance.
