It's kind of a gamble, the old fluid may be helping hold deteriorated seals by keeping the grime in place so it's not leaking. New fluids come in and starts some cleaning action and bam, weeping occurs.

Okay, so I should neglect fluid changes because I should fear seals might be on their way out.
