Can we get real here? No modification is inherently unsafe. When you lift your truck, you don’t go driving the same way you would in a sports car. It’s just the same as if you add camber to your wheels, and then drive more moderately when it rains because you have less of a contact patch. We can’t be okay with one modification that is known to be “unsafe” and then say another is unsafe. Double standards will just complicate everything. We all need to be on the same team here if we want this to go away.
