Lifted trucks are always getting VI's, for things like mud flaps, tire poke, headlight heights, lightbars, etc. They do occasionally complain about it on places like BC4WD or BC Coal rollers on FB, but by and large the mentality seems to be "Pay to play". I've yet to hear of anyone getting harassed too badly for the actual suspension lifts themselves which is surprising. I've also yet to hear anyone getting bothered too much for DPF deletes and having their trucks tuned, unless they are being stupid rolling coal all the way down 200th street. I know guys who get caught once or twice, and they learn the lesson, finally they buy a set of kickback mudflaps and some fender flares, and carry on.
I got pulled on hwy 1 just between langley and abby in my work truck 3 months ago, cop asked basic questions regarding the lighting (Flood lights around the truck, lightbars up front, and a beacon lamp). He mentioned covers for some of the lights, but as soon as I showed him my registration for having the amber beacon on the truck he realized he's just stopping someone who is trying to do a job, so he let me go. It's also valuable to note, he did a good check around my trailer as well, and asked some semi intelligent questions about my load and how it was strapped, as well as asked me to demonstrate my trailer brakes and stuff. I was impressed with the cop, he asked the right things to ensure quickly that I wasn't committing any blatant safety violations, and he never gave any incorrect information.
