The accident rates are only higher because the majority of RHD cars are sports cars driven by young people. I think it's pretty safe to say in a lot of the accidents being RHD had little (if anything) to do with it. The only time I find it genuinely inconvenient is when making a right turn when there's the big concrete island that pedestrians wait on. Then I end up trying to look out of my passenger rear or rear window and the visibility isn't as good as just looking out the drivers door window in a LHD car.
You can find a manual IS300, they're just a bit harder to find. Like you I prefer the 3SGE over the 2JZGE though.
