I skimmed through most of this current season and it's significantly better than last season. It was such a big difference that I decided to Google it, and apparently the former showrunner, Scott Gimble, got replaced by Angela Kang. That pretty much explains why this season was actually pretty damn good, especially the last episode before they went on winter break.
Digging deeper into Scott Gimble revealed that he's the current showrunner for Fear The Walking Dead, and everyone is saying that this season has been absolute shit
