Yes, you are allowed to modify your vehicle. If you weren't allowed to modify your vehicle, there would be specific laws against it. There is actually a specific ICBC title classification for modified vehicles, https://www.icbc.com/vehicle-registr...-vehicles.aspx

I have been preaching this title change as a step in due process to help prevent getting a VI, nobody has spoke up about doing this though. Its not going to prevent you from getting a VI, but it should act as proof your car is safe.
