I’ve found it really easy to live with. Best description I agree with is it feels like a mini gtr. The dsg is smooth in comfort and the shifts are quite fast in sport and race. I like that you can take the tc all the way off. The launch control is really impressive for a stock car imo....it gets off the line really fast. I’m so used to a 3rd pedal that it does make you feel a bit useless at time but when you spend most of your time in city commute traffic it’s a great car to be inside with all the creature comforts like climate control, heated seats etc yet still have the absolute to switch to a more sporty mode when things allow. Feels like a jack of all trades in that sense...doubt it will be the best at any one thing but if you want a sporty, practical car that can kind of do it all then I think it’s a great vehicle. Also doesn’t hurt that they seem to take well to mods which is good if you need a bit more “Hmph”. Honestly the part that impressed me the most with the golf is the ride quality and how tight the chassis felt. The ride in comfort is plush enough to iron out all the shit city street potholes. I was jealous too because I spent good money on Ohlins for the evo and the golf feels better right out the box. Overall I feel like you get a lot of value for your money. But if I had to do it all over again I would likely have paid a bit more and just gone with the rs3.
