I hadn't considered 1:12. My dream is a large scale Lotus 49 F1 car.

Thanks. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised some of them cost as much as my 1:1 car
You can get Pocher... they make decent big scale models. These are sold as kits, and you will need to assemble them yourself. No paint required. The good thing is you can detail the crap out of a Pocher kit - there are aftermarket upgrade kits for Pocher.

Another company that makes big scale cars is Degostini. They make a super detailed McLaren MP4/4. This kit is made by Kyosho and sold under Degostini brand. You have two options for Degostini, you can get the model through a subscription or buy the kit straight up - not cheap.

Tamiya makes 1/12 models in plastic or in diecast. And if you are familiar with Tamiya, they produce super quality kits. In 1/12 scale diecast metal from Tamiya are Porsche 918, Ferrari 308 GTO, Enzo and F50. For their plastic kits you will need to assemble it like a plastic model.

If you have good modeling skills, you should try Tamiya's 1/12 big scale kits, and Fujimi 1/16th scale model kits.

Good luck.
