i argued his point.
i'm not sure where people get the impression that the president passes budgets. it goes through congress. he's tried to get funding on multiple occasions. congress wouldn't pass it.
he's compromised from his $25b request to just $5b. a sizeable reduction to put it mildly. they're being unreasonable and refuse to negotiate.
they spend hundreds of billions on national security and can't spare $5b for a barrier. that's pretty ridiculous.

there is no economical substitute for a physical barrier. it's just common sense. but apparently even common sense needs to be argued these days.
have a look at the apprehension stats prior to the construction of their 600 mile barrier (which dems fought to complete) and then after.
while there were other factors involved, the barrier clearly helped to reduce those numbers drastically.
