If someone has been wrongfully VI-ed, I wholeheartedly agree with your suggestion that they should try filing a complaint through the method that I did, and I'd encourage people to use whatever I've written as they see fit. (My complaint letter is in post #1454.) But a key point here is, they need to be certain that they have not violated the MVA. As far as camber is concerned, that means their camber setting needs to be within the manufacturer's specified range. As far as lowering is concerned, the lowered amount needs to be less than 10cm, with all parts of the vehicle (including stuff on the underside) no lower than the lowest point on the rim of the wheels, and the headlights must have a mounted height no less than 56cm. The more legitimate complaints they receive regarding the same/similar issues, the more attention the police and the complaint commissioner are going to pay.

Additionally, note that the phone call came from the OPCC, not the VPD. The OPCC is a civilian body, although some of their staff obviously have background in policing. As a civilian body whose mission is to keep the police honest, so to speak, I am not surprised to see them being more responsive to public concerns, and I appreciate this responsiveness of theirs. On the actual police side, it remains to be seen how responsive the VPD is on what I'd consider a valid concern. Thus far, I have pretty much only received a standard acknowledgement reply -- it could even be an automated reply for all I know.

If everyone files a complaint, quote for quote on what you indicated in your complaint while relating to their personal experience, it could become something big. Since it does seem that they are not ignoring complaints.

It does seem that the higher-ups either do no know of the situation or they are pretending they do not know as there have been little to no formal complaints from those with personal VI experiences because based on what I see so far in this forum, everyone is just taking it as "pay to play".

BIG_BAWS even indicated that "There have been active members, [cops], that have commented on the topic in other threads. They just mentioned that in their Dept doing what Cain is doing would result in suspension without pay." Clearly what Cain is doing is not supported in general by departments, but due to the lack of voice, or complaints by the public, nothing is being noticed by the department heads.
