Just thought this scenario was unfortunate and unfair. Thanks for your input. I don't have much if any experience disputing a ticket because I just haven't had any so any additional thoughts on what to expect?

Dispute it. From personal experience, the traffic court judge at robson square is very defendant friendly, and easy to reason with.
