There may be an air filter in the fridge that could be changed.

Also try keeping the baking soda in the fridge, there is a specific baking soda that has a tear out area on the front that is made for fridge.

I have had the same issues, my wife swears the smell isn't there but I smelled it. Keeping the the baking soda in there helped out a lot.
