I had a quick skim through the transcription of the recorded telephone conversation, and holy shxt... I cannot imagine how JT or his staff can get out of the accusation for political interference (and on the justice department, no less!). The message from Wernick is loud and clear.
I kind of feel badly for the Wernick dude as well -- in a sense, he is just the messenger, and you are normally not supposed to shoot the messenger. He was certainly put into a tough spot by JT, but the right thing to do at the time would have been to quit and not oblige with JT's bidding, instead of passing the message (and threat) along. IMO, his subsequent resignation is all but meaningless now, and he need to be prosecuted as well, along with JT and the rest of his gang.
You go, JWR! Hunt all these corrupt bastards down! The Canada that I know is not supposed to operate this way.
