I had a similar issue, some ice cream trickled into the freezer vent. Unplug the fridge let it all defrost, empty out the water/drip tray in the bottom and plug back in. I do not use Baking Soda, use fresh ground coffee in a glass or plastic cup. You will notice the coffee will absorb the fridge smells and food will taste better, especially in the freezer make a huge difference with ice and ice cream. I change the coffee ground about every 2 or 3 months.
