When I was plowing through my back piece in 2012/2013 my artist would charge me $1,000 and give me the day. I did three 8+ hour sessions and a fourth session for about 6 hours. Both better than the seemingly standard $200/hr rate of today. Not sure if I would get that deal today.

I'm hoping to finish it up this year. More because I want to move onto other stuff. About that, curious y'alls thoughts on having a full color back piece but doing black/grey sleeves? Do people usually choose to go the color or grey route and then follow that theme through their body? Will it look weird? I'm loving everything black/grey nowadays but my back is color since it is a cover-up of two previous color tattoos from way back in the day. Had it not been a cover-up I would have done black/grey. I don't see myself going the color route for my arms or legs at all and I'm struggling to see how that will flow throughout. My sister-in-law, who is Thai, gets mad when I say I want black/grey as she thinks that pale caucasian skin is born for color. That has always stuck with me for some reason even though I have always preferred black/grey.

Thoughts? Opinions?
