Because that $100 or so is just a simplistic view. Real numbers will come when you start seeing cost of everything multiply, when manufacturing, businesses and services pass on there increases onto you, not to mention inflation on top of that. . I believe we have another tax kicking in July. So guessing gas will be around $2 mark by summer driving season.
