Yeah, turns out that the seller of the non-S Boxster is actually a friend of some of my car circle friends, and they say pretty much the same thing as you did.
Fortunately for me, it is a Boxster instead of a Cayman. If it was a Cayman instead, I might have to figure out how to have a difficult chat with the SO...
