My first car was an 2009 335i Coupe, Alpine White on Black. It was a fun car but it was plagued with issues. My only regret was not learning how to work on my car faster. I used to pay this mechanic by my house to do work on it and boy was I getting ripped off. I only owned the car for a month and a bit. Put on 7000 KM in that time frame.

Spent $2k basically in maintenance. Ignition coils went bad on Cylinder 3-4-5-6, the first time I got the misfire I was stressing as I knew nothing about cars at all. I paid this mechanic $230 for one ignition coil. The coil alone costs $30-40 AND ITS THE EASIEST THING TO DO, sadly I never knew.

Had a valve cover gasket leaking paid quite a bit as with getting some other stuff replaced.

Anyways, I traded it in later as I put a down payment on a new house so I figured I'd buy my dream car, the M3. Well realistically my dream car was the F80 M3 but that would have been a bad financial decision so I opted out and got the E90 M3 instead. Just something about the Sedan is more appealing to me than the Coupe.

I've owned the E90 M3 since September 2017.

My ownership timeline - Not 100% accurate missing some stuff - Will include at end
Spoiler!

My overall experience with my E90 M3 has been great. The V8 sounds amazing, I've driven an F80 since I've purchased my E90 and even though the F80 is a good looking car and a powerful car, I didn't enjoy the driving characteristics of it.

In my ownership of, I've never had a single CEL. When it comes time to selling the vehicle or replacing it in general it will be hard.
