This is the thing. You are totally correct that Bond can be *anyone* unlike Ethan Hunt who has to be Tom cruise. The issue comes in when it becomes politicalized, and clearly it’s
already begun.
What they have to do is just flat out make a new James Bond with a female lead or whatever, call no attention to it and make her badass like Sarah Connor. Keep the action raw and brutal. Don’t make it cartoony like when the women fight in marvel movies. Just release it with an “it is what it is, deal with it” attitude and those mouthbreathing neckbeards won’t care.
