Maybe that's because sitting stationary with your eyes glued to the road for 16 hours at a time for years on end isn't exactly enticing to a lot of people.
Trades people are fleeing the lower mainland and other metro areas because of the ridiculous cost of living.
There's no one in Nanaimo to work because it's...Nanaimo.
