The pistons are part of the caliper assembly. Slider pins may or may not be. Either way, an extra 20-25 bucks, well spent.

Brand wise? I think Powerstop sells a full rear kit or get some Centric reman calipers, Raybestos EHT pads and Raybestos coated rotors.

Does yours have the Brembo/sport brakes or just standard issue?

For your rad fan, when you say it's always on, have you tried checking it with the AC off(and not on defrost)?
