I still don't think DRLs alone are the cause of the problem. It's more the fact that all cars now come with more obscured gauges that cannot be seen with natural light, and are lit up with ignition on, instead of being switched by the actual headlamp switch. So then you get the usual person who feels like they can see enough of the road (and yes theyre almost all Toyotas because Toyota likes to do this 10 volt modulation thing on their low beams for various models, so it's nearly as bright as regular low beams) And now it kind of changedes the problem to become "oh why didn't they have the tail lights come on with the front DRLs in the first place"
