If you get into an accident, you may be forced to take a first responding tow driver even if you have roadside assistance. Cops are notorious for forcing you off the road to clear traffic there. The tow driver then tows you to a shady repair shop and you'll be at the mercy of that shop. Some people have had cars stuck there for months with no recourse. Even your insurance company might be helpless in getting your car out.
Here, you can go to any certified shop and expect good service. Shops with reasonable storage and repair rates. Even the tow rates are really good compared to other provinces.
