Take the M340i next time. Much louder bangs and pops between shifts and off-throttle.
On another note, I've got a 2020 Sonata this week on demo with an Ontario manufacturer plate on the back but no front plate. Would Cain & co give the car a VI even though technically it should be a no front plate ticket?
