Mine are perpetual............. they bloom three times a year for 10 to 20 years. The roses at my mom's old house kept growing for 40 years. Sold the house, but I imagine they're still around. They were floribunda variety, which I'm not too fond of.
I grow them, not buy them. Carnations at Costco. Now that's a different story. Carnations last a hella long time. I have carnations in my back yard as well, but they are dwarfs (Dianthus). Finding the kind they sell at Costco and other florists is next to impossible. If I want to grow them at home, I guess I'll have to head out to the boonies to a nursery. If anyone has suggestions as to where, I'd appreciate it. I'm talking the tall minimum 12 inches variety.
