But I do have a question, does the absolutely stacked first-party selection make up for the lack of AAA third-party games? I mean the GameCube and Wii didn't have many either, but the third-party support dropped off a cliff with the Wii U. Indie games are on the Switch but AAA games have mostly stayed away due to the weaker hardware.

Well, one thing I can say is that if you have Switch Online Membership, you can play some SNES and NES games for free on the Switch. Whether your preferred games are there, unsure.
