FWIW, the Honda CVTs up to 2015 are different from the CVTs used in 2016+
My friend's 2016 Civic drives much much much nicer than the 2015 Civic that I have with the CVT. I'm not sure if it's a whole redesign or if it's just a different tune. But the 2016+ drive much more like a simulated automatic, whereas the 2015s you can tell its literally one gear.
