That the virus is completely eradicated? Until there's a vaccine? PEI or NB (can't remember exactly as I just heard briefly on the radio, but it's one of the Atlantic provs) recently had another few cases after going case-free for months because one of their own return home.

You can't simply lock everything down... same thing as locking down with the economy. You survive the virus alright, but there's a destroyed economy that risk the livelihood of everyone.

Not to mention that it's simply no one in their right mind willing to challenge, but such restriction has no chance of surviving a charter challenge because mobility freedom is one of the basic rights strictly protected by our charters.

The right approach is to take step by step approaches. Making it extremely difficult at first, cautious and contained in the area and open it up little by little if some pre-defined guidelines and benchmarks are met (border town-->border cities of that town-->province)

The "one of their own" is a guy that arrived from the USA on a student visa, didn't self-isolate, and then cluster infected people in NS and PEI. Yeah, sure, let's open those borders right back up.

You realize that our country as a whole has been able to slowly open back up in large due to our restricted borders, right?

Easy to spout off hypotheticals but take a look around you, people can't even wear masks on their own accord.
