Wow, that sucks. What exactly happened, and did warranty cover anything? Another acquaintance of mine also had the same thing happen to them. Had solid Maytag fridge for 20 years, and one day, wife needed to keep up with the Jones' and got the Samsung fridge. Unit died a miserable death 1.5 years in. Samsung couldn't figure out what was wrong. They were pretty much out of pocket on costs and ended up replacing it with another Maytag.
