It can get complicated. really depending on situation, who you dealing with.
As you said because of violating privacy law. Yes, The best way is to get original owner to ask for invoices.
If they do end up giving you original invoice/receipt, then, manufacture will need proof of delivery date thats printed on the invoice.
Manufacturer will also ask serial number of the products during warranty claim.
For some companies/shops.
You will need to bring occupancy documents that proves you are the new owner.
Because warranty is provided by Manufacturers, so some shops will help contact manufacturers in this situation.
Myself helped a lot of new apartment owners to claim their warranty by going this method and without needing of giving out original invoices to new owner.
Because we submit original invoices directly to manufacturer, and also updated new owner info with manufacturers.
