I find that it's arguable, but based on anecdotal (emphasis on anecdotal!) a colleague of mine ran 87 Husky gas almost exclusively on his 2015 Civic (it's on his daily commute home, so why not?) One day, his Civic just gave up with CEL popping up on the dashboard, and wouldn't start anymore. Towed to Honda dealer and did a diagnostic. Kept the car for about a week, and turns out the fuel injector seals were shot due to the fuel.
Was this a unique situation? Bullshit? Dealer trying to make my colleague buy a a new car? I don't know. But that was the official diagnostic on behalf of the dealer, including Honda Canada's regional technical manager.
