These spouses—an estimated 581,000 of them—are eligible for CERB benefits and represent a potential CERB price tag of $7.0 billion (not counting the recent extension of the program for another month). These are individuals whose monthly income will be higher under CERB than when they were working. |
Govt could have potentially spent up to ~19B on these two demographics (dependent young people <25 age living in household income >=100K, spouse with family income >=100K)
