it seems like maybe HK is more on top of things on a day to day basis? i havent been following as closely as you.

i think people would be more open to another (or real) lockdown or whatever set of rules you want, if we believed our government here would be quick to make adjustments. like if all of a sudden a surge occurred like what we are seeing now, we would be more likely to comply and be supportive if we felt as soon as the numbers dropped down again, they would be relaxed to phase 2 or 3 if the numbers dropped immediately instead of an arbitrary decision system. like if the government said "ok numbers are over 100/day, we are back to phase 1 until numbers are under 50" i think most people are afraid our government might say "ok numbers are up, we are back to phase 1 indefinitely".

i also think, given the enormous size and massive social and density diversity in our province, it needs to be region by region. if greater vancouver is the reason for 99/100 new cases per day, it is hard for someone living in fort st john to be on board with going into lock down if they have had 0 new cases for weeks.
