I did hear that the Golf below the GTI is dead here, possibly because of the popularity of the Tiguan. With the VW Taos likely coming to cover the wagon's spot, it seems unlikely. They're testing the R wagon at the Nurburgring, but educated guess says that the take rate on wagons in North America in their final years killed the idea.
I think our only point of access for a high performance VAG wagon is through the RS6 Avant.
