I am seriously disappointed even though I should really have expected this. This is essentially the same first gen car with a new engine dropped into it, plus some nips and tucks here and there. The engine is adequate, and I'd expect it to work quite nicely for street use, but a larger displacement will almost certainly make it less eager to rev and revs are fun. Except for the front end from above the grill all the way to the hood, the rest of the lines look overwrought.

I'd call this a gen 1.5 car at most...

The other problem is -- this car is going to have to compete with all the 1st gen cars that are already out in the market. I don't see how the car wouldn't be Cdn $30k+ when it drives out of the showroom, but you can probably find a decent FRS in the low teens. But the new car isn't $18k better than the old one, so why would someone buy new?
