I dunno, hanging out drinking at a table with other people in the same situation can be fun sometimes. I'm still in touch with completely random people I've met at weddings.
Or you could end up with a table of antisocial nerds who don't drink or talk.. that's happened too. It all depends I guess - use your discretion based on the personalities of the bride or groom?
