It's not about fashion brands at all, it's just highlighting Trump and his family's cozying up to Xi Jinping for their own benefit, meanwhile grandstanding to the public the exact opposite.

I truly think your examples and Traum's in relation to China are the same as those hallow sentiments some carried in their support for Trump as he was "good for the economy", another misnomer that carried little fact, an excuse used to not appear as an awful person.
