3) The private energy lobby is in the pockets of EVERYONE down here. Some people are having $400 power days as a result of this whole situation. And only because they're "lucky" enough to have power.

He obviously didn't expect to have such a major backlash but being the kind of visible reptile he is, Moscow Mitch probably demanded he come back because Cruz is up for election next year and this (along with the whole insurrection thing) has him on the serious bubble.

Conversely, Beto O'Rourke (Cruz' competition from the LAST senate race) has been organizing phone banks to call senior citizens to make sure they're alright. For those who need heat, they organize rides to "warming stations" (churches and community centers) and warm meals for those who haven't been able to cook.
And this is just one guy who DOESN'T have a formal staff. Hes not an elected official anymore. Beto is just some dude.

Laughably, Houston's version of Dodd (of Dodd's furniture) has been doing more than Cruz. He opened up his big furniture store for families to come and sleep and get warm.

While I get where you're coming from, Great68, I do think that Cruz could be doing something rather than less than nothing.
I agree with this completely. Who cares if he's a senator versus a governor, it's all about optics, you don't head off to sunny warm Cancun in the middle of a crisis in which people are literally dying in your represented State.

The Republicans have become such an insane cult that even your governor had time to go on Fox News to spew partisan anti-socialist bullshit in the middle of his state going bonkers.

To call these people garbage is an insult to trash.

If Beto is smart, he'll have ads going all next election cycle with Cruz's fat face lining up at the airport to head to resort land while his people suffer.
