Do you mean the classic aircooled 911? or some of the 996 / 997 GT cars?
Embarrassing as it may be, I don't actually know very much about the 911, esp the older aircooled ones. So it is very unlikely that I'd be able to pull off that "ownership without losing money" trick that you are talking about.
