Just wait until 3D printed guns become a common and readily available item to use. If it's a targeted hit there's a good chance they're close enough to only need 1 shot. If someone is worried of the barrel blowing after 1 use they can easily just make 3 or 4 single shot guns and then ditch them or burn them.
Who needs to import one when a 15 year old can get the plans online and print one in their parents house with no serial number attached to it.
People should be more worried about that than anything else in terms of the legal owners debate. Look at the

What are the pro gun control people going to do then.. ban 3D printers? Ban ammunition?
